This is the real way to settle down in the core area of Jing'an
Before coming to Shanghai, I turned over more than a dozen strategies, and finally determined Merry Hotel Shanghai. Originally, I just placed an order for the location next to Jing'an Temple. The location of the hotel is really impeccable. It takes only 8 minutes to walk to Jiangsu Road Station on Line 2. This major transportation artery in Shanghai directly connects Hongqiao Airport, Hongqiao High speed Railway Station, and Pudong Airport. You don't have to change lines when getting off the plane, and you can take the subway directly to the hotel entrance in 40 minutes. You don't have to worry about taking a taxi or getting stuck in traffic with a large luggage box. Walk south for 10 minutes to reach Jing'an Temple Station on Line 11 and Line 7. If you want to go to popular attractions such as Disneyland, Xujiahui, and World Expo Park, simply transfer to any line and you can get there directly without taking any detours. At the entrance of the hotel is the bus stop on Yan'an West Road, with over a dozen bus routes covering the entire city. When you don't want to squeeze into the subway, taking the bus leisurely and enjoying the street view is also a romantic experience unique to Shanghai.
The most outstanding thing is its walking friendliness. I hardly took public transportation in the past three days. Wearing sneakers slowly, I can finish the most essence of Jing'an. Go out and turn left for 5 minutes, then get into the shade of wutong trees on Yuyuan Road, stroll around literature and art shops and old western-style houses, and walk to Jing'an Temple for only 15 minutes. The incense of red walls and cornices mixed with the aroma of surrounding coffee, which was more comfortable than clocking in the crowd. Walk east along Yan'an West Road for 20 minutes and directly enter the commercial district of Nanjing West Road. You don't have to rush to visit Henglong or buy souvenirs. If you get tired, you can turn around and go back to the hotel to rest.
The food density around is even denser, and there will be surprises if you take two steps: you can walk three minutes to find the old restaurant of Benbang cuisine that has been open for more than ten years, and Braised pork belly with thick oil and red sauce will be served, which is the authentic flavor of old Shanghai; There are five or six online red coffee shops hidden within 5 minutes. In the morning, I got up and went downstairs to buy a latte. I walked two steps along the wutong Road, and even the wind was fragrant. If you want to have supper at night, take a turn to Dingxi Road Food Street, where you can find everything from pan fried buns to crayfish, without having to take a taxi and travel far to find food.
Even the details of self driving travel are so thoughtful that they are outrageous: in the core area of Jing'an, the exclusive parking lot for hotel guests only costs 40 yuan per day, which is not even enough to park for 3 hours in the surrounding business district. The taxi booth is right at the entrance. When you catch your early flight, the front desk can help you call a taxi in advance, so you can get on the bus as soon as you leave, without having to wait for more than ten minutes to pick up your order on Yan'an West Road during peak hours.
Of course, as a well-established hotel, it doesn't have the flashy clock in devices of internet famous hotels. However, with its convenient transportation location, I won't hesitate to choose this place the next time I come to Shanghai - after all, wasting time in traffic is the biggest loss when I come out to play.Grasping efficiency and relaxation in both hands
This time, I came to Jing'an, Shanghai to coordinate brand cooperation. I didn't choose the fast-paced super high-rise business hotel in the commercial district, and finally settled on Merry Hotel Shanghai. I only noticed that it is close to the core area of Jing'an Temple. After staying for three days, I realized that this old hotel, which was fully renovated in 2011, balances the needs of business trips with a rare sense of relaxation perfectly.
Take Line 2 directly from Hongqiao Station to Jiangsu Road Station, exit from Exit 4 and walk for 8 minutes to reach the hotel entrance. Dragging a suitcase full of plans, there is no need to take detours or block the elevated road for half an hour. The entire commute is smooth beyond expectations. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. During the gap between checking information at the front desk, they proactively informed me of the fastest commuting routes to several core office buildings in the surrounding area. They even explained the walking shortcuts to avoid congestion during the morning rush hour. They also clearly explained the printing time slots at the business center and the reservation rules for free meeting rooms, saving me a lot of time searching for travel guides.
The layout of the room completely hits all the pain points of business travelers: a 1.2-meter-wide solid wood office area is reserved by the window, and network cable interfaces and multi specification fast charging sockets are all within reach, without having to squat on the ground and search for power strips. The ergonomic office chair provides ample support, and even after two nights of revising the collaboration plan until early morning, my waist didn't feel as sore as usual. The 1.8-meter bedding is fluffy and soft, and after running to three venues during the day, I was exhausted and lay down for less than ten minutes before dispersing most of it. The design of the independent dressing room is particularly thoughtful, and formal attire will not be wrinkled and piled up at the foot of the bed when hung in. The most convenient thing is the supporting business services. The large and small meeting rooms of the hotel are well maintained. The projection, audio and whiteboard are all debugged in advance. I temporarily booked a small docking meeting for 10 people. When I arrived half an hour in advance, I could directly arrange the information, without spending time debugging the equipment. The breakfast hall will open at 7 o'clock. The small Wonton, hot coffee, and solid pastry can be eaten in 10 minutes, instead of eating cold bread in the rush morning rush hour. The core business circle of Jing'an Temple and Nanjing West Road can be covered by 10 minutes' walk around. After meeting customers, you don't need to squeeze the subway. Walk slowly back to the hotel along wutong Road. Tight nerves can relax in an instant.
Of course, as a well-established hotel, it does not have fancy intelligent delivery robots, and some public areas have a retro 2011 feel in their decoration. During rush hour, the elevator needs to wait an extra half minute. But these small inconveniences cannot offset its reality: in the core area of Jing'an, the exclusive parking lot for residents only costs 40 yuan per day, and customers who come by car do not have to find expensive parking spaces at all; The 24-hour fitness room equipment is kept clean and tidy. After a busy day, running for half an hour can alleviate most of the fatigue in the body.
When I checked out, the front desk took the initiative to call a bus to the high-speed railway station for me, so I didn't have to stand on the roadside during rush hour waiting to pick up my order.
